Sigma Corporation is a Japanese company founded in September 1961 by Michihiro Yamaki. It manufactures cameras, lenses, flashes and other photographic accessories, with all products made at its Aizu factory in Bandai, Fukushima. Although it produces its own cameras including Foveon-sensor models, Sigma is best known as the world's largest independent lens manufacturer, producing high-quality lenses compatible with Canon, Nikon, Sony and other systems.
