Yashica Co., Ltd. is a Japanese manufacturer of cameras, lenses and photographic equipment founded in December 1949 in Nagano, Japan as Yashima Seiki Company. Best known for its Yashica Mat TLR series, Electro 35 rangefinders and 35mm SLRs, it collaborated with Carl Zeiss to create the Contax/Yashica mount and RTS system. Acquired by Kyocera in 1983, production ceased in 2005 before the brand was revived in 2008.
