DESCRIPTION
The Nikon SB-400 Speedlight features the Nikon Creative Lighting System (CLS) to provide i-TTL flash operations in combination with CLS-compatible cameras including D4, D3-Series, D800-Series, D700, D2-Series, D300-Series, D200, D90, D80, D70-Series, D7000, D5100, D5000, D3200, D3100, D300, D60, D50, D40-Series, F6, COOLPIX 8800, COOLPIX 8400, COOLPIX P7100, COOLPIX P7000, COOLPIX P6000, COOLPIX P5100, COOLPIX P5000.
Manual mode is also available with the D4, D800-Series, D700, D300-Series, D90, D7000, D5100, D5000, D3200, D3100, D60 and D40-Series cameras
The SB-400's usable flash shooting distance range is 0.6m to 20m (2 to 66 ft) and varies, depending on the camera's ISO sensitivity and lens aperture in use
It's powered by just two AA-type penlight batteries
There are no controls on the flash so flash modes are set on the camera and depend on the features of the camera to which mode is available. These include Slow-sync flash, Red-eye reduction,
Red-eye reduction with slow-sync flash,
Rear-curtain sync,
FV (Flash Value) Lock,
Exposure compensation and flash output level compensation and manual
Overall a verstale flash considering its small size
